WWII U.S. M1 Helmet Liner Headband (Mid-Late War)
This original WWII U.S. helmet liner headband's manufacturer markings have since faded beyond legibility. It exhibits green painted steel clips and a blackened brass buckle, a combination introduced on November 5, 1943 and utilized until the end of the war. The headband's leather is in good condition, however the khaki fabric has begun fraying. This would be an ideal headband for a high-pressure helmet liner with either green painted steel or blackened brass A-washers.
