WWII U.S. 9th Air Force Navigator Captain’s Service Jacket
This is an original WWII U.S. 9th Air Force service jacket. By reviewing the jacket's awards, we are able to learn much about its original owner. He held the rank of captain and spent one year overseas. He acted as a navigator, and in addition to his sterling silver wings, he received numerous awards during the war, including the: Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Medal with one battle star, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two battle stars, and lastly the Presidential Unit Citation. Unfortunately, its manufacturer’s label and size tag have been removed. This jacket shows signs of use, but is in good condition.
