WWII M1 Helmet Liner Headband (Mid-War)
This original WWII M1 helmet liner headband was manufactured in 1943 by a quite uncommon producer, Midwest Shoe & Slipper Mfg. Co. It exhibits green painted steel clips and a blackened brass buckle, a combination introduced on November 5, 1943 and utilized until the end of the war. The headband's leather is in great condition and the fabric still retains the coating that prevents the pinked edges from unraveling. This would be an ideal headband for a high-pressure helmet liner with green painted steel A-washers.
