WWII German Wagner "Select" Dienstuhr Medic's Wristwatch (German-Made)
This original WWII German dienstuhr (service watch) was manufactured for the Wehrmacht by Wagner, a German watchmaker founded in Pforzheim in 1938. Unlike the radium-painted black dial watches issued to frontline soldiers, medics and hospital workers received non-luminescent white dial watches like this Wagner "Select". Also unlike most Swiss-made dienstuhrs, those produced by German watchmakers often lacked the "D _ H/U" markings. Stamped on the caseback's exterior are the markings "BODEN" and "EDELSTAHL", which translates to "BACK" and "STAINLESS STEEL", respectively. The "KJ" crossed by the arrow denotes production by Kollmar & Jourdan AG, a casemaker also located in Pforzheim. Its original mechanical movement is the Wagner caliber 810. This watch is in good, running condition, however it could likely benefit from a complete servicing. Its case diameter measures approximately 32 mm, while its stationary "spring bars" are 18 mm wide.
