WWII Fixed Loop McCord M1 Helmet Shell (September 1942)
This original WWII U.S. McCord manufactured fixed loop M1 helmet shell is in great, field-used condition. The heat stamp of 29_B dates the helmet's production to September 1942. It retains its original factory paint, cork texture, and khaki chinstrap. The chinstrap features a brass buckle in the "raised bar" variety. The helmet's fixed loops are strong and intact. There is a stress crack at the rear and minor surface rust throughout. Interestingly, the top of the helmet is inscribed with the hand-painted rack number of '195', indicating that this helmet was likely used by the Navy or the Marine Corps. This helmet would pair very nicely with a high pressure helmet liner with non-painted steel A-washers.
