Lot of 81 Pre-WWII German 5 Reichsmark Silver Coins (1934-36)
This lot consists of 81 original pre-WWII German 5 Reichsmark silver coins. These coins are 90% silver. They range in production from 1934 to 1936. The 1934 design showcases the Garnisonkirche in Potsdam, Germany, and on the coin's reverse, the national eagle. The design commemorates the "Day of Potsdam", March 21, 1933, on which the newly-appointed Chancellor Adolf Hitler and German President Paul von Hindenburg championed the unification of both National Socialism and Prussianism. The 1935 and 1936 designs exhibit the same national eagle emblem as the prior design, but now pay tribute to the then-recently deceased former president who handed Hitler his chancellorship. These would make for excellent additions to a footlocker display. The new owner will receive the exact coins shown.
