Late-WWII U.S. Swivel Loop Parish-Reading M1 Helmet Shell (1945)
This original, and exceptionally rare, WWII U.S. M1 helmet shell resulted from the partnership between Parish Pressed Steel Co. and Reading Hardware Corp. Parish-Reading helmets account for less than half of 1% of all M1 helmets produced during the war. To learn more about this little-known manufacturer, please view our article. This swivel loop, rear seam helmet shell is in very good condition. The heat stamp of P4 dates its production from June to August 1945. It retains its original factory paint, cork texture, and OD#7 (green) chinstrap. This helmet would pair quite nicely with a high pressure helmet liner with blackened brass A-washers and would instantly become the centerpiece of any collection.
