Late-WWII U.S. Capac Infantry M1 Helmet Liner (107th Engineer Battalion)
This is an original late-WWII U.S. Capac manufactured M1 helmet liner. At its sides, beneath a field repaint, are the original red-painted markings of the 107th Engineer Battalion. The 107th cleared obstacles at Normandy, received a Presidential Unit Citation for its efforts during the Battle of the Bulge, and constructed the "Victor Bridge" across the Rhine River, the longest tactical floating bridge in the world. The liner features blackened brass A-washers, dating the liner's production from mid-1944 to 1945. The khaki suspension is strong and intact; it comes complete with an original Am. Stay Co. manufactured headband and neckband.
