Late-WWII U.S. Camouflage Painted Swivel Loop McCord M1 Helmet Shell (1944-45)
This original late-WWII U.S. McCord manufactured swivel loop M1 helmet shell showcases a striking two-tone camouflage paint scheme that was sprayed over a now-missing camouflage helmet net. This helmet is in well-used condition. The interior is painted with the surname of its original owner, "Quinlan". Its heat stamp could not be read, however we know this helmet dates from November 1944, as that was when the seam was moved to the rear. Beneath its original camouflage paint, it retains its original factory finish, cork texture, and single OD#3 (khaki) chinstrap, although it is fraying. This helmet would pair quite nicely with a high pressure helmet liner with blackened brass A-washers.
