Late-WWII German M38 Fallschirmjäger Camouflaged Helmet & Liner Set (ckl68)
This is an original, and incredibly unique, late-WWII German manufactured M38 fallschirmjäger helmet set. It showcases an original red and green camouflage paint scheme, commonly referred to as a "Normandy" camo, but was utilized in other campaigns as well. The helmet's inside brim is size stamped ckl68, along with the lot number of 4054, denoting late-war production by the Eisenhüttenwerke, Thale factory. The helmet's distinctive raised rim is exclusive to the 4054 lot number. The helmet exhibits all the characteristics one expects to see on an original example from this timeframe, including the "dip" at the front of the helmet and the rim crease resulting from the manufacturing process. Interestingly, both vented slotted aluminum and solid slotted steel bolts were utilized in the helmet's assembly - another common characteristic of this particular helmet lot. The interior retains its original size 57 leather liner, Buna-S dome pad, and "type-2" chinstrap system. The leather components exhibit damage, however are still intact. The liner features an RBNr. and the hand applied rank and name of its original owner, "Obergefreiter Lange".
