This is an original and complete WWII German M34 ex-double decal Feuerschutzpolizei helmet set. Atop its original black factory finish, the polizei decal has been "de-nazified", while the party decal has been completely removed - likely by the U.S. veteran who brought this helmet home at war's end. The helmet's interior brim is faintly stamped with a resting lion above "D.R.P., Thale", denoting production by the Eisenhüttenwerke, Thale factory. The shell has been measured and is a size 66. Interestingly, this shell could accomodate a larger size 58 or 59 liner, however it was instead completed with a smaller size 56 liner and multiple layers of cork spacers. The cork spacers are square, denoting war-time installation. The helmet's split pins and washers are all original and show no signs of tampering.
